Senior DBA

Description:
Our client seeks a Senior DBA to support database operations and design improvements for a portfolio of online and batch applications serving both commercial and government clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize database performance for high-availability systems
• Design and implement database solutions to support new application development
• Ensure data integrity and security across all database environments
• Collaborate with developers to translate application requirements into database schema designs
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity
• Participate in database capacity planning and resource allocation
• Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
• Expert level expertise in Oracle and SQL Server database management
• Experience with database migration, replication, and consolidation projects
• Strong understanding of database security best practices
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment supporting both commercial and government clients

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
• Knowledge of database performance tuning tools
• Familiarity with database automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell)
• Experience with database auditing and compliance requirements
