Abacus Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our team in Quantico, VA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects supporting critical government missions.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain complex IT systems and networks
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
- Manage system security protocols and implement best practices for data protection
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT role
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Experience with database management systems
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks
