Job Description
We are seeking a Navy Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale, complex SAP S/4HANA implementation for the Navy. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between the project team and the Navy's business stakeholders for all planning-related processes. You will leverage your deep understanding of Navy supply chain, maintenance, and operational planning procedures to ensure the SAP S/4HANA solution is designed and implemented to meet the unique requirements of the organization. This is a critical functional role that ensures the new ERP system aligns with strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a trusted advisor to the project team and Navy leadership on all matters related to Navy planning processes.
• Translate existing Navy planning, forecasting, and supply chain processes into requirements for the SAP S/4HANA system.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with Navy business users to validate requirements, demonstrate system functionality, and drive consensus.
• Review and approve functional design documents to ensure they accurately reflect Navy operational needs.
• Champion business process re-engineering efforts, helping the Navy adopt best practices enabled by the new SAP system.
• Support user acceptance testing by developing test scenarios and validating that the system behaves as expected from a business perspective.
Role Requirements and Qualifications:
• Domain Expertise: Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of Navy supply chain, maintenance, and material planning processes. Familiarity with Navy-specific terminology, regulations, and organizational structures is essential.
• Business Process Acumen: Strong ability to analyze, document, and articulate complex business processes. Experience with business process improvement or re-engineering is highly desirable.
• Communication and Influence: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams and influence decision-making at various levels.
• ERP Project Experience: Experience participating in a large-scale ERP or business transformation project is preferred. Familiarity with SAP is a plus but not required.
Federal and Security Requirements:
• U.S. Citizenship required
• T3 / Secret Clearance required
• Direct experience working within the U.S. Navy or supporting Navy logistics and planning is mandatory.
