Job Description
OLH Technical Services, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a CAD Operator in Newport, RI
Position Responsibilities:
• Attend project meetings to gather requirements and information concerning proposed construction and facilities projects.
• Review existing drawings and project documentation to understand existing conditions and support development of new project drawings.
• Prepare conceptual drawings using project requirements, existing conditions, and information provided by the customer.
• Create and revise construction drawings in a compatible AutoCAD format.
• Research estimated material costs and prepare and update rough order of magnitude cost estimates.
• Compile draft construction specifications using SpecsIntact.
• Present drawings during project meetings and incorporate revisions based on direction.
• Maintain electronic drawing files in the facilities archive and hard copies of approved final drawings in the drawing library.
• Review construction product submittals against approved drawings and identify discrepancies or nonconforming items.
• Participate in site visits and notify the Project Engineer of discrepancies between observed conditions, approved submittals, and drawings.
• Track construction and facilities projects through completion and prepare project status reports.
Provide direct supervision of assigned personnel, as applicable.
Position Requirements:
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Secret clearance required.
• Associate of Science degree in Drafting and Design from an accredited institution. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
• Three to five years of relevant drafting or design experience working with design renovation projects utilizing current construction and building standards.
• Ability to create and modify drawings based on engineering input and project requirements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Experience supervising direct reports.
