About OSAAVA Services

OSAAVA Services is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) supporting mission-critical programs across the U.S. defense community. Our capabilities span cybersecurity, IT, engineering, and technical mission support.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced U.S. Air Force Control and Reporting Center (CRC) Subject Matter Expert to provide specialized technical and advisory support for a CRC modernization and engineering effort.

Position Overview

This is a specialized remote consulting opportunity for an individual with extensive knowledge of the legacy U.S. Air Force Control and Reporting Center (CRC) environment.

This is not a traditional full-time engineering position.

OSAAVA is looking for someone who has spent significant time working directly with legacy CRC systems and understands how the system is built, how its major components interact, how it has evolved, and the technical considerations involved in modernizing or replacing legacy capabilities.

The selected consultant will serve primarily in an advisory capacity, providing historical and technical knowledge to engineers and other stakeholders supporting modernization efforts.

The ideal candidate may be a former CRC engineer, maintainer, technical lead, field engineer, program office SME, senior contractor, or other professional with significant hands-on experience supporting the CRC mission.

What You'll Do

As the CRC Technical Advisor/SME, you will:

Provide technical and historical expertise on legacy USAF Control and Reporting Center (CRC) systems.
Advise engineering and modernization teams on existing CRC architecture, components, capabilities, interfaces, and dependencies.
Explain how legacy CRC components interact within the broader command-and-control environment.
Provide insight into legacy hardware, software, communications, networking, radio, radar, and supporting infrastructure as applicable to your area of expertise.
Help engineering teams understand current and historical system configurations.
Identify technical considerations, dependencies, and potential challenges associated with modernization or replacement of legacy CRC capabilities.
Support discussions surrounding system architecture, interfaces, interoperability, integration, and transition planning.
Provide historical context regarding previous CRC upgrades, modifications, sustainment efforts, and technical decisions.
Review technical concepts, documentation, requirements, and proposed engineering approaches.
Assist engineers in identifying where institutional or legacy-system knowledge may affect modernization decisions.
Participate in remote technical discussions, working sessions, and engineering reviews as needed.
Provide recommendations based on prior CRC experience and lessons learned.
Serve as a technical resource when questions arise regarding legacy CRC functionality or architecture.
Help bridge the knowledge gap between legacy CRC systems and future/modernized capabilities.
Who We're Looking For

This position requires actual CRC experience.

We are particularly interested in professionals who have worked directly with the U.S. Air Force Control and Reporting Center as an engineer, maintainer, technician, program office representative, field support engineer, technical contractor, or senior technical SME.

Competitive candidates may have experience with areas such as:

USAF Control and Reporting Center (CRC)
Legacy CRC system architecture
Ground-based Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2)
Theater Air Control System (TACS)
CRC operations and maintenance

Radar integration
Radio communications
Data links and system interfaces
Network architecture
Remote radio capabilities

Experience with legacy CRC equipment and architectures, including systems associated with AN/TYQ-23, AN/TPS-75, or related CRC infrastructure, is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications
Significant professional experience supporting U.S. Air Force Control and Reporting Center (CRC) systems.
Strong understanding of one or more technical areas within the legacy CRC environment.
Ability to explain legacy system architecture, components, interfaces, dependencies, and operational considerations to an engineering audience.
Experience supporting technical, engineering, sustainment, maintenance, integration, or modernization activities.
Ability to review technical information and provide informed recommendations based on prior experience.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to participate effectively in remote technical discussions and advisory sessions.
Ability to work independently in a consulting capacity.
