• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, performance, API, and integration testing using Selenium, Protractor, Jasmine, Cucumber/Gherkin, or equivalent tools.
• Build and optimize scalable automation frameworks, including Selenium Grid, parallel execution, cross-browser automation, containerized test suites, and cloud-compatible runners.
• Implement AI-assisted development and testing approaches to accelerate script generation, data creation, defect triage, and coverage validation.
Quality Engineering & DevSecOps Integration
• Develop test strategies, plans, scripts, and automated pipelines integrated into FEMA’s DevSecOps environment (CI/CD, GitLab/GitHub, Docker).
• Support Section 508/WCAG accessibility assessments within automation workflows.
• Collaboratively refine acceptance criteria and enable Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) across multiple agile teams.
Data & Metrics Management
• Define meaningful test metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility.
• Manage automated test data, synthetic datasets, and validation rules across distributed systems.
• Perform advanced debugging, log analysis, root-cause identification, and cross-system defect reproduction.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Partner with Business Analysts, developers, and Product Owners to evaluate business logic, user flows, and edge cases.
• Influence design, architecture, and user experience by identifying testability gaps and advocating for quality-focused engineering practices.
• Provide mentorship to junior testers and contribute to best-practice documentation.
Required Qualifications:
• Ability to obtain a FEMA EOD
• Bachelor’s degree plus 7 year’s of experience
• Strong programming/scripting skills (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.) with passion for automated testing.
• Minimum 5 years in test automation and 3 years in manual testing.
• Hands-on experience with:
o Selenium Grid / WebDriver
o Protractor or Jasmine
o Cucumber/Gherkin
o JUnit, TestNG
o GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
• Experience with relational databases, UI/UX testing, Section 508 compliance testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Serena Business Manager, HP QC.
