Job Description
Serve as asenior system architect on the JTMS platform, applying CACI's Model-DrivenDesign and Implementation (MDDI) methodology and Model-Based SystemsEngineering (MBSE) practices to the S/4HANA-anchored enterprise architecture.Translate joint transportation business processes and architectural intent intoauthoritative system models that drive design, integration, and verificationacross the program's release trains - aligned with DoDI 5000.97 DigitalEngineering direction. Key responsibilities
• Apply CACI MDDI methodology to capture target businessprocesses, system architecture, requirements, and interfaces in a singleauthoritative system model (Systems Architecture Model / SAM).
• Develop and maintain MBSE artifacts using SysML orequivalent (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Capella, or Rhapsody) coveringstructure, behavior, requirements, and parametric views of the JTMS platform.
• Translate business architecture into S/4HANAconfiguration intent: data model, integration topology, and process flow acrossFI/CO/FM, MM, SD, GTS, and Transportation Management modules.
• Lead integration architecture across REST/SOAPservices, enterprise messaging (Kafka or equivalent), API gateways, and theJTMS canonical data model bridging dozens of legacy DoD logistics interfaces.
• Align the architecture to DoDI 5000.97 (DigitalEngineering), RMF / NIST 800-53 control families, Zero Trust principles underNIST 800-207, and DoD SRG IL4/IL5 hosting constraints.
• Govern architecture decisions and trade studies acrossthe program's Agile Release Trains; lead architectural runway planning,model-driven verification approaches, and architecture review boards.
• Mentor functional, integration, and DevSecOps engineersin model-driven design discipline; produce and curate architecturedocumentation aligned to the program's configuration management standards.
Required qualifications
• U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance orthe ability to obtain one (we will sponsor eligible candidates).
• 7+ years designing enterprise, system, or solutionarchitectures for large-scale IT programs in DoD or comparableregulated/enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated systems-engineering capability: youcan decompose a complex system and model its structure, behavior, interfaces, data, and end-to-end mission/business threads with full traceability -independent of any single tool.
• Working proficiency with a SysML/UML modeling approachin a recognized tool (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw, Sparx EA,Rhapsody, GENESYS, or similar) , plus familiarity with an architectureframework such as DoDAF or UAF.
• Strong communication skills, including technicalbriefings and architecture documentation for executive and senior militaryaudiences.
• Aptitude and motivation to deepen MBSE anddigital-engineering skills, with support from our digital-engineering communityof practice.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, ComputerScience, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field - orequivalent professional experience. Preferred qualifications
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• 5+ years of hands-on MBSE / digital engineering incomplex system-of-systems environments.
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, EnterpriseArchitecture, or a related field.
• Direct experience supporting USTRANSCOM, DoD logistics, transportation, supply chain, or ERP modernization programs.
• Experience generating technical documentation, reports, and deliverables directly from system architecture models.
• Experience architecting solutions that integrateCOTS/ERP platforms with custom DoD systems.
• Ability to extend MBSE tool capabilities throughscripting, APIs, or plugins.
• Familiarity with digital twin, digital baselinemanagement, and AI/ML integration within MBSE frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, DevSecOpspipelines, or zero trust in DoD environments (AWS GovCloud, IL4/IL5).
• Knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle, JCIDS, andbusiness process reengineering in enterprise transformation.
• Certifications such as OCSMP, INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, TOGAF,SAFe, or AWS/Azure architecture credentials.
