Description

Bring Complex Systems Together for a Mission That Matters

Great systems don’t happen by accident, they happen when talented engineers can see the big picture, understand how complex technologies interact, and turn that understanding into reliable mission capabilities. Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Integration Engineer to join the Chinook Program supporting an Intelligence Community (IC) customer and an application supporting important national security objectives.

As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll be at the center of complex technical integration connecting applications, services, infrastructure, data, interfaces, and mission capabilities into a cohesive operational solution. You’ll work across engineering disciplines to identify integration challenges early, lead technical troubleshooting, and ensure capabilities work together as intended.

The Senior Systems Integration Engineer will provide technical leadership for the integration of software, hardware, infrastructure, data, and mission capabilities supporting the application. The engineer will work closely with software engineering, systems engineering, DevSecOps, test engineering, security, architecture, program management, and customer stakeholders to plan, execute, troubleshoot, and validate complex system integrations.

Position may be performed in the following locations below.

• Tucson, AZ

• Gaithersburg, MD

• Alexandria, VA

• Chantilly, VA

• Englewood, CO

• St. Louis, MO

Clearance Level Required:

Active Top Secret/SCI with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead integration activities across applications, infrastructure, data, network, security, and mission-system components.

• Develop and maintain system integration strategies, plans, procedures, and technical documentation.

• Analyze system and software requirements to identify integration dependencies, interfaces, constraints, and risks.

• Define and document system interfaces and integration requirements.

• Coordinate integration activities across multiple Agile engineering teams.

• Lead technical integration working sessions and troubleshoot complex cross-system issues.

• Develop integration approaches for APIs, microservices, databases, messaging systems, and external interfaces.

• Coordinate environments and technical dependencies required for integration and testing.

• Support end-to-end system integration and validation activities.

• Partner with Test Engineering to develop integration and end-to-end test strategies.

• Investigate defects and integration failures and lead root-cause analysis.

• Analyze logs, application behavior, interfaces, data flows, and system configurations to isolate issues.

• Coordinate resolution of integration defects across engineering teams.

• Support deployment, release, and operational readiness activities.

• Evaluate technical impacts associated with application changes, infrastructure changes, and new capabilities.

• Identify integration risks and dependencies early and communicate them to engineering and program leadership.

• Maintain integration schedules, technical dependencies, and readiness criteria.

• Support Agile ceremonies, PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical demonstrations.

• Participate in architecture and technical design reviews.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced systems and integration engineers.

• Collaborate with customer and mission stakeholders to understand operational integration requirements.

• Support continuous improvement of integration processes, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• US citizenship is required per contract.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Demonstrated experience with systems integration, software integration, or complex enterprise application environments.

• Experience analyzing system interfaces, dependencies, data flows, and integration requirements.

• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across multiple systems or applications.

• Experience with REST APIs, web services, databases, messaging, and distributed systems.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Experience with requirements management and technical documentation.

• Experience collaborating across software, infrastructure, security, test, and systems engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or DoD mission systems.
