Position Overview
Indigo is looking for a Senior Program Manager / Product Lead to lead an embedded product team supporting rapid prototyping and experimentation within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering. You will report directly to the government Director of Prototyping. You will be the single accountable leader for getting working software and integrated data into warfighters' hands quickly. The work covers three connected efforts: a mission planning and learning capability, an integrated product suite that links requirements, capability development, and warfighter integration, and a Department-scale common operating picture for senior leaders. This is a hands-on role. You will sit with operators and commanders, frame the real operational problem, ship a first version fast, and improve it through a closed learning loop of planning, execution, analysis, and adaptation.

What You'll Do
- Own the product vision and roadmap across three connected efforts, sequenced so the team delivers usable capability early and often.
- Set and maintain the system-of-systems technical architecture so the efforts mature as one coherent software and data platform rather than separate tools.
- Make build, buy, integrate, and defer decisions, and resolve architecture and priority conflicts.
- Maintain the digital thread from warfighter problem through requirement, capability development, integration, operational employment, and performance feedback.
- Work directly with operators and commanders to frame operational problems and convert them into shippable increments rather than backlogs of tickets.
- Run a tight discovery, build, field, and learn cycle, and define what a working product in a user's hands means for each increment.
- Instrument the closed learning loop so each mission's execution and system-performance data informs the next plan.
- Lead and integrate a five-person cross-functional team, including assigning work, mentoring, and managing day-to-day performance.
- Manage scope and schedule across all three efforts.
- Define and track outcome measures, including capabilities fielded, data integrated, decision-cycle time, and adaptation velocity, and report them to the sponsor and senior leaders.
- Coordinate with embedded partner teams and other organizations where that accelerates delivery.
- Represent the effort to the Director of Prototyping, Combatant Command sponsors, and other Department stakeholders.
- Translate technical progress into evidence-based decision support for senior leaders.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and resourcing issues early, and support the case for follow-on investment.

Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance at hire, with the ability to maintain it and obtain SIPRNet access.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software product management, technical program management, or software and data engineering leadership.
- Demonstrated record of leading cross-functional software product teams that delivered working capability to real users on compressed timelines.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture, data architecture and pipelines, and cloud and edge deployment.
- Experience with iterative delivery methods, including product management, agile, and user-centered design.
- Program management experience across people, cost, schedule, and performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work alongside operators or end users, take on an ill-defined problem, and ship a first version quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to present clear findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
- TS/SCI eligibility.
- Experience delivering software capability in or with a defense or operational environment.
- Familiarity with DoW RDT&E funding and rapid-acquisition or OTA mechanisms.
- Familiarity with DoW AI/ML and data platforms.
- PMP, CSPO, SAFe, DAWIA certification, or a relevant master's degree. Equivalent demonstrated experience is accepted in place of certification.

Why Work for Indigo?
- Paid time off: All federal holidays plus three weeks of paid vacation, accrued over time.
- Health insurance: Employer-paid health insurance for eligible employees after a 30-day waiting period. Indigo currently pays the full individual premium. Plan details, including dental and vision options, are provided at hire.
