SME Network Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing technical expertise and guidance on network infrastructure, security, and design. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network engineering and a deep understanding of networking protocols and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and guidance on network infrastructure, security, and design.
• Develop and implement network architecture and solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network performance and reliability.
• Conduct network assessments and recommend improvements.
• Stay current with emerging network technologies and trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.).
• Experience with network security technologies and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP.
• Experience with cloud networking and virtualization.
• Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).

Clearance Requirements
Active Secret clearance required. Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph may be required for certain assignments.

Work Location
This position is primarily on-site at our facility in Annapolis Junction, MD. Occasional travel may be required.
