Full Stack Developer
Washington, DC (On-site) | Full-time | Active Top Secret clearance required
About the Role
M&S Consulting is hiring a senior Full Stack Developer to drive rapid development in an AI-assisted environment. This is a senior individual-contributor role: you will set technical direction, mentor teammates, and apply strict human oversight to validate, secure, and maintain complex enterprise code produced with AI coding assistants such as Claude and Amazon Q Developer.
What You'll Do
- Write, review, and refactor Java (Spring Boot) back-end and Angular front-end code
- Use AI tools to generate boilerplate, write unit tests, and perform application modernization tasks
- Ensure AI-generated code adheres to security, AWS cloud architecture, and PostgreSQL database standards
- Manually review, debug, and optimize code to prevent integration issues and low-quality abstractions
- Mentor teammates and help set technical direction
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including work at a senior or technical-lead level
- 4+ years of experience with Java/Spring Boot
- 4+ years of experience with Angular (version 17 or higher)
- 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience working in AWS environments
- Demonstrated experience working in AI-assisted development workflows
- Excellent debugging and architectural design skills to steer AI agents effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Docker or other containerization technologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills
