Job Description:
As a Retail Sales Associate, you will assist customers with purchases and returns, process incoming freight and markdowns, support cash-control requirements, assist with inter-store transfers, maintain visual merchandising standards, support stockroom organization and inventory activities, and help identify and communicate safety, housekeeping, and maintenance needs.
Position Responsibilities
Provide a welcoming, customer-focused retail experience and assist customers with purchases, returns, and product questions.
Process freight, markdowns, and incoming merchandise accurately and efficiently.
Understand and adhere to visual merchandising standards to maximize product presentation and ensure marketing initiatives are executed as intended.
Partner closely with the Store Manager to execute action plans that support or exceed sales goals.
Maintain appropriate stock levels to support business volume and customer demand.
Assist in building and maintaining engaging merchandising displays and current floor sets.
Support cash-control procedures, inter-store transfers, inventory preparation, and other daily store operations.
Maintain an organized stockroom and support safe, clean conditions on the sales floor and in back-of-house areas.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards; promptly communicate safety, housekeeping, or maintenance concerns to store leadership.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships while communicating effectively with business partners and stakeholders.
Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt effectively in a changing retail environment.
Required Skills:
High school diploma or GED.
1+ years of experience in retail sales or retail operations.
Experience using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
Ability to safely lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to stand and move, including reaching, bending, and stooping, to handle products for extended periods with only short breaks.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights, as needed.
Preferred Skills:
2+ years of retail store experience.
Counterpoint POS experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
