Job Description

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Join our team as a Full Stack Software Developer and help build the internal applications that power General Atomics’ operations. You’ll work across the entire technology stack—from database design to front-end interfaces developing scalable solutions that streamline processes and enhance productivity for teams across the company. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional partners, leverage modern development tools and AI technologies, and make a tangible impact on how GA employees work every day.

Our team does it all, and we expose new developers to it from the start. This approach allows you to focus on areas where your strengths lie while your knowledge of the full system grows organically. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional partners, leverage modern development tools and AI technologies, and make a tangible impact on how GA employees work every day.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain internal web applications across the full stack
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Build backend services and APIs using modern frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails or C#/.NET)
  • Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Design and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL)
  • Develop automation solutions to streamline internal processes and reduce manual effort
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines and application deployments
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across production and non-production environments
  • Maintain clear and concise technical documentation

We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience building or contributing to full stack web applications
  • Experience with a modern Version Control System (VCS) platform (e.g. GitLab, GitHub, Azure)
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Ansible, Artifactory)
  • Familiarity of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tooling (e.g., prompt engineering, API integration, AI-assisted workflows, Claude Code)
  • Familiarity with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
