Job Description
The NASA Aerospace Capabilities Portfolio Office (ACPO) consolidates aerospace capabilities across multiple NASA Centers and has ongoing software and data development work that supports its applications and its broader data community. Python is the primary development language for this work, and day-to-day development is done predominantly in Python.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates residing in the United States, excluding the following states: AR, CT, DE, HI, IA, KS, MT, NE, NJ, NY, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
- Develop, maintain, and operate software and data applications supporting ACPO.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows that prepare, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources.
- Implement applied analytics and machine learning features that support ACPO analysis and decision making.
- Build interactive dashboards and tools that make data usable for engineers, analysts, and program staff.
- Support data quality, testing, documentation, and day-to-day operations of delivered software.
- Collaborate with other developers, data staff, and program staff to deliver working software.

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or business
- Strong, demonstrated proficiency in Python
- Foundational software development skills, such as building applications and working with data
- Must be willing to undergo a background investigation for a position of NASA Public Trust; US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ACPO or the applications and development environment it uses
- Prior experience supporting NASA, ideally in an aeronautics or aerospace research environment
- Experience developing software or data workflows for aero science or aerospace research and test data, for example wind tunnel, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or flight test data
- Experience building data pipelines, applied machine learning features, or interactive dashboards in Python
- Experience building interactive dashboards in Python, especially with Dash
- Experience working in a cloud environment
- Experience with data orchestration tooling
- Experience with version control and collaborative development practices
