Position Title: Solutions Architect (Capture & Proposal)

Location: Remote

Salary: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00

Position Summary:

The Solutions Architect is a hybrid technical and business development role responsible for designing winning technical solutions for opportunities in our capture pipeline and translating those solutions into compelling, compliant proposal content once RFPs are released. These individual bridges the gap between CCS's technical delivery expertise and our growth objectives, ensuring that the solutions we propose are technically sound, operationally executable, differentiated, and directly responsive to government requirements.

The Solutions Architect serves as a key contributor to business growth by developing innovative, compliant, and executable solutions for strategic opportunities. This role combines deep knowledge of organizational capabilities, operational delivery models, and past performance with strong proposal-writing expertise to create compelling technical and management approaches. The Solutions Architect works collaboratively with Business Development, Operations, and Proposal Management teams to transform customer requirements into differentiated solutions and persuasive proposal content that aligns with evaluation criteria and enhances win probability.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable engaging in high-level discussions of cyber and technology capabilities, mapping requirements to a solution during capture, and writing persuasive technical content that ties that solution to a PWS/SOW and the client's evaluation criteria.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Operations, and Proposal Management subject matters experts to design solutions that align with acquisition strategies, organizational capabilities, and customer needs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of CCS's capabilities, service offerings, technologies, tools, methodologies, and strategic growth priorities.
  • Design end-to-end technical solutions across CCS's core domains: cybersecurity (RMF, vulnerability management, penetration testing, security assessments), cloud development and migration (AWS, Microsoft Azure, M365, hybrid multi-cloud, Zero Trust), infrastructure and IT operations and maintenance, data analytics, and agile software development.
  • Perform detailed requirement analysis and compliance mapping to ensure proposed solutions fully address client requirements, evaluation factors, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Develop solution architectures, deployment roadmaps, technical approaches, and basis-of-estimate inputs that balance technical merit, cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Support capture activities including solutioning sessions, competitive assessments, gap analysis, gate reviews, make/buy and teaming decisions, and win theme development.
  • Collaborate with business development, program managers, and subject matter experts to shape solutions early, while opportunities are still in the pipeline.
  • Evaluate solution alternatives, risks, assumptions, and dependencies to ensure proposed solutions are executable, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational activities.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, market developments, and customer priorities to inform future solution strategies.

  • Advise on technology selection, enterprise architecture, cloud readiness, and modernization strategies drawing on standards such as NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, DoDI 8510.01, and DoDI 8500.01.

  • Proposal Content Development (RFP Phase):
  • Under the direction of the Proposal Manager, author technical volume content, management approach narratives, and solution descriptions that clearly tie the architected solution to the released RFP, PWS/SOW requirements, and evaluation factors.
  • Create proposal artifacts, including solution diagrams, process flows, organization charts, and concept of operations (CONOPS) illustrations that effectively communicate the proposed approach.
  • Identify discriminators, strengths, and value propositions that enhance competitiveness and support win strategies.
  • Ensure all proposal content contributions are compliant, compelling, and traceable to solicitation requirements and win themes.
  • Translate complex technical designs into clear, persuasive narrative supported by graphics, diagrams, and discriminators.
  • Incorporate CCS past performance to substantiate the proposed approach.
  • Participate in color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold), incorporate reviewer feedback, and refine content through proposal maturity cycles.
  • Support cost/technical cross-walks to ensure the written solution aligns with pricing assumptions.

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or technical delivery, with federal environments strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience designing solutions across one or more CCS core domains: Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Emerging Technologies (AI/ML) Cloud & Enterprise
  • Infrastructure, Software & Application Modernization, and Digital Transformation & Enterprise Architecture.
  • Experience writing technical proposal content for federal solicitations and translating requirements (PWS/SOW) into compliant, persuasive narrative.
  • Experience supporting oral presentations and technical demonstrations as part of multi-phase solicitation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, capture process, and proposal development (Shipley or similar methodology).
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
