About The Role
Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support a federal client onsite in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will identify business trends and solve complex problems through advanced big data analysis. You will interpret results from multiple data sources using a wide range of techniques - from statistical analysis and data aggregation to complex data mining and design and implement high-value business solutions that directly support mission outcomes.

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support a federal client onsite in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will identify business trends and solve complex problems through advanced big data analysis. You will interpret results from multiple data sources using a wide range of techniques - from statistical analysis and data aggregation to complex data mining and design and implement high-value business solutions that directly support mission outcomes.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Develop rapid analysis scripts, visualization prototypes, and interactive dashboards tailored to project needs.
- Prepare and present analysis reports, visioning session materials, and project documentation.
- Apply appropriate analysis techniques based on available data and project requirements.
- Deliver products that meet Business Unit needs and are usable with minimal training.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, clear, and free of errors.
- Design and develop mathematical optimization models and source code/scripts to support analytical solutions.
- Produce translational documentation for use in analytical and visualization product development.
- Prepare proposal presentations and project result documentation.
- Ensure model parameters and functions are appropriate for the given need and available data.
- Meet project timelines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Data Engineering & Architecture
- Prepare and manage big data pipelines to support business solutions.
- Implement data models and develop databases aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate across business units to ensure solutions are scalable, accurate, and actionable.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field along 8+ years expeirence.
- Active Public Trust clearance
- Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. If degree is not in an applicable field, four (4) additional years of related experience is required.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python and/or R.
- Strong analytical background with academic or professional grounding in data science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings for non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple industries and adapt quickly to complex, dynamic environments.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) and must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years. Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
