Job Description
Are you passionate about cybersecurity, cloud security, and protecting mission-critical systems? We are seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) II to support highly secure government environments by designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security controls across cloud-native and containerized platforms.
This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, OpenShift, DevSecOps pipelines, container security tools, and government security frameworks while helping secure some of the most sensitive systems in operation.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a security engineering subject matter expert for containerized environments, microservices architectures, and service mesh technologies.
- Design and implement security controls for Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Integrate security throughout CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.
- Configure and optimize enterprise security monitoring and logging solutions.
- Monitor security alerts, network traffic, and system activity to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Perform threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Partner with developers, platform engineers, and security teams to embed security throughout the system lifecycle.
- Conduct security assessments on container platforms, APIs, and microservices.
- Develop and support incident response activities and remediation efforts.
- Create and maintain security documentation, compliance artifacts, and continuous monitoring procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 7+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience securing Kubernetes or containerized environments (OpenShift preferred).
- Strong experience implementing security controls aligned with: NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, FedRAMP
- Experience securing cloud, container, and DevSecOps solutions within IL5 and IL6+ environments.
- Experience with security monitoring and log analysis tools such as Splunk.
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and infrastructure security.
- Experience supporting continuous monitoring and compliance programs.
- Proficiency in incident response, threat analysis, and forensic investigation techniques.
- Experience with security tools such as: Prisma Cloud, Fortify, Acunetix
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP or equivalent certification supporting DoD 8140 requirements.
Clearance Requirement
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph required.
