The Cloud Developer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure. This critical position integrates Azure architecture expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps automation, and cloud security strategies. You will partner with development, operations, and security teams to modernize infrastructure, improve system performance, enhance security posture, and drive ongoing migration efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Azure Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, and other Azure services, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Infrastructure Modernization: Migrate existing unmanaged Azure resources into source control and refactor Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configurations, with an emphasis on PowerShell.
- Automation & Workflows: Build and optimize automated deployment pipelines and operational workflows using IaC tools and scripting languages.
- Security Remediation: Analyze Azure vulnerabilities and compliance scan outputs to remediate critical and high-priority findings, ensuring security and compliance alignment.
- Cloud Environment Optimizations: Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine-tune Azure environments to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaboration on Best Practices: Collaborate across development, operations, and security teams, sharing Azure best practices and providing guidance on infrastructure optimization.
- CI/CD Implementation: Configure and troubleshoot Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline and enhance release management processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-related roles.
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of Azure services (compute, storage, networking, governance).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible).
- Experience in automating cloud environments and operational workflows.
- Demonstrated skill in cloud security remediation, compliance risk management, and governance.
- Hands-on expertise using Git-based repositories for version-controlled infrastructure management.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Minimum Skills Required:
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices.
- Ability to recommend and implement software upgrades.
- Experience in software maintenance and testing to ensure continued functionality.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with modern web development frameworks and libraries.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of database management and integration.
- Understanding of web security best practices.
- Ability to document processes and code for future maintenance and upgrades

Working Conditions:
- Professional office environment.
- Ability to work on site in Washington, DC.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
