SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Accounts Payable Manager to oversee daily operations of the accounts payable department, supervising staff, ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies, maintain accurate financial records, and drive improvements and efficiency with automation and workflow optimization. This role also owns the AP close process and ensures adherence to accounting, government standards, and internal controls.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices and payments are reviewed, coded, processed accurately and timely.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the workload of the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Own the monthly AP close process, including preparing AP accruals, analyzing AP aging, and preparing AP-related journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable inbox and serve as a primary point of contact for vendor, program, and internal inquiries. Ensure all AP vouchers have complete and accurate supporting documentation, proper approvals, correct project/account/organization coding, and compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee auditing and processing of employee travel expense reports in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and SciTec travel policies.
  • Manage the entering of AP regular and auto pay vouchers, expense reports, and company paid AMEX statements into our Deltek Costpoint Accounting system.
  • Oversee the entering, tracking, and accuracy of Purchase Orders into our Material Management System.
  • Ensure 1099 reporting compliance.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare documentation and respond to inquiries for internal, external, and government audits.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to AP processes, policies, system controls, and workflows to strengthen compliance and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive efficiency through automation by reducing manual touchpoints, improving process flows, and optimizing the use of Deltek Costpoint AP functionality.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the accounting department and organization objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant field with accounting courses
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing or supervising multiple employees within an accounting department
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office software
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Candidates who have the following skills will be preferred
  • CAPA (Certified Accounts Payable Associate) or CAPP (Certified Accounts Payable Professional)
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint or similar GovCon specific
  • GovCon accounting experience
  • Experience with Federal Travel Regulations
  • Experience with AP automation tools such as FloQast, OCR invoice capture, digital workflows, vendor portals, electronic payments, or automated 1099 processing.

The pay range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 per year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
