Aircraft Structural Maintenance Technician (P-8 Program)

Overview
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking experienced Aircraft Structural Maintenance Technicians to support the P-8 Program in Jacksonville, FL. This position plays a critical role in supporting military warfighter readiness through the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of P-8 aircraft and related structural components.
Shift Information
1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Must be willing and able to work 1st or 2nd shift based on business needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform structural repairs, modifications, and overhaul activities on P-8 aircraft.
Read and interpret blueprints, process data sheets, maintenance manuals, technical directives, and service bulletins.
Identify and install aircraft fasteners including rivets, blind rivets, screws, Hi-Loks, bolts, and lock bolts.
Remove and reinstall access panels, fairings, and structural components.
Perform cleaning, corrosion prevention and control, polishing, and dry wash tasks.
Apply aircraft finishes including primer, paint, Alodine, and sealants.
Fabricate, trim, drill, ream, and assemble metallic and composite aircraft components.
Perform major and minor modifications to aircraft skins and structural assemblies.
Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, dial calipers, grip gauges, depth gauges, feeler gauges, Trimics, and bore gauges.
Utilize assembly jigs, repair equipment, and fixed tooling to build components to blueprint specifications.
Complete aircraft technical logs, maintenance documentation, and work packages accurately and within required timelines.
Identify and report technical discrepancies, damage, or maintenance concerns to program leadership.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, quality, and company requirements.
General Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality work with a focus on First Time Quality.
Follow guidance provided by leads and senior subject matter experts.
Maintain required certifications and training.
Use required personal protective equipment and adhere to all safety requirements.
Perform daily tool inventories.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Demonstrate flexibility to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
Lift and handle tools, materials, equipment, and components within company lifting guidelines.
Contribute to a positive safety and reporting culture.
Security Clearance Requirement
Secret Clearance required after start date.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Post Assessment Requirement
Day 1 Assessment Required: Contractors who do not pass the assessment will be released immediately. Candidates who successfully pass will continue into the required training program.
Training Requirements
Successful completion of training is a contingency of this assignment.
Training may include On-the-Job Training (OJT) and/or formal classroom instruction.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic experience in commercial aviation, military aviation, defense programs, or a related apprenticeship.
3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Ability to perform close-tolerance drilling within .003".
Ability to perform precision measurements within .003".
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer systems.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Typically 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience
Aircraft structures and sheet metal repair experience.
Military aircraft maintenance experience.
Client platform experience, especially P-8 aircraft.
Composite repair experience.
Depot, MRO, or heavy maintenance environment experience.
