Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - HVAC/Plumbing Engineer - Federal
Location: Hill AFB UT
Duration: 12 Months assignment with possible extension
Shift Schedule: 1st shift
Per diem is offered for meals, hotel and rental car
1 or 2 trips home (short trips, along with 2 weeks virtual offered). Will be sitting onsite the entire project duration.
This is not a design role it is a role supporting our government client from their perspective. Work would involve performing design submittal reviews, and attendance of review conferences, client coordination, engineering support during construction. This opportunity you would be sitting on the client side of a design taking a totally different perspective and supporting on the government side.
This is a project-related, field based role stationed at Hill AFB.
Seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to provide on site design review support for a variety of buildings in the Federal market sector. This position is for a design engineer with a background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing design. Building types may include administration/office buildings, laboratories, server rooms, manufacturing, warehouses as well as maintenance facilities. The candidate should have leadership experience, good communication skills and ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The candidate will be responsible for executing and reviewing mechanical designs for new and existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team, including drawings, specifications, and submittal reviews.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes and
• Create and maintain project schedules for small to mid-size
• Review of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings, for accuracy, clarity, coordination, codes and standards.
• Actively coordinates with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on
• Understands construction phase services (review of submittals, responses to RFI's )
• Able to present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end user

Required Skills/Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience Mechanical Engineer
• Federal industry experience and is familiar with government requirements (i.e. UFCs, MIL-STDs, UFGS)
• Security Clearance (SECRET) or ability to get one
• Knowledge of building mechanical codes
• Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers, and other related markets
• Knowledgeable in sustainable design
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• US citizen
• Must be able to complete the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria
• Building Controls Systems Design /Building Automation

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited
