JOB TITLE: FABRICATION TECHNICIAN I
DEPARTMENT: FABRICATION & MODIFICATION
REPORTS TO: FABRICATION & MODIFICATION MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under supervision, the Fabrication Technician will fabricate parts and perform aircraft sheet metal and composite repairs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Utilize detailed blueprints to layout pieces to be fabricated and installed.
• Layout and fabricate aircraft parts such as ribs, stringers, doublers, etc. using standard sheet metal and composite repair techniques and measuring tools such as calipers, dial calipers, and scales.
• Utilize fabrication machines including drill press, band saw, chop saw, bending brakes, and shears.
• Must be able to hold tolerances.
• Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma with at least 0-2 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance.
• Work environment consists of various office and manufacturing settings with may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals.
• Ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
