Job Description

Description: NSI requires a Senior Logistics Engineer to support the PMA 265 Product Support Team (PST)/Integrated Product Team (IPT). The Senior Logistics Engineer serves as a vital senior-level asset within the PMA-265 Product Support Team (PST) Integrated Product Team (IPT). The primary objective of this position is to coordinate and optimize logistics engineering processes, execute complex data analyses, secure and track operational readiness funding, and integrate emerging material technologies into the F/A-18 and EA-18G fleet. The selected candidate will operate at a high level of independence, serving as a Deputy Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (DAPMSE) equivalent in supporting cross-functional engineering, logistics, and program management domains. This role requires exceptional coordination capabilities to interface with internal NAVAIR competencies, external defense partners, and Congressional liaisons.

Data Analytics, Reporting, and Congressional Inquiries:
• Lead the generation, analysis, and synthesis of highly technical data requests, performance metrics, and fleet readiness reports.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for compiling, refining, and validating responses to high-profile inquiries, including official Congressional Inquiry packages and Senior Navy Leadership data calls.
• Ensure all technical and administrative responses for the Product Support Team are accurate, data-backed, and delivered within established tight deadlines.

Cross-Functional Integration & Data Call Coordination:
• Convene and facilitate cross-functional technical teams (consisting of logisticians, systems engineers, materials experts, and program analysts) to resolve complex operational and systemic fleet issues.
• Streamline tracking mechanisms and operational workflows to manage incoming action items and "data calls" across the PMA.
• Drive collaboration across departmental boundaries to ensure integrated, holistic engineering and program management solutions.

Funding Acquisition & Fleet Readiness Support:
• Support the generation of comprehensive technical justifications and business cases to secure critical funding (e.g., APN-5, OPN, O&MN) aimed at addressing urgent fleet equipment deficiencies and operational readiness requirements.
• Work collaboratively with financial and logistics teams to track funding execution, ensuring alignment with resource allocation rules and scheduling milestones.

Technical Writing, Policy, and Program Documentation:
• Author, review, and maintain critical program life-cycle documentation. This includes primary ownership of the program's Corrosion Prevention Control Plan (CPCP) and Additive Manufacturing Plan.
• Lead inter-disciplinary reviews to incorporate updates reflecting the latest engineering practices, materials advancements, and environmental regulations into official program office documents.

Core Competencies & Technical Skills:
• Acquisition Certifications: Equivalency to DAWIA Level 3 in Systems Engineering or Program Management is highly preferred.
• Technical Writing & Communication: Proven history of drafting high-visibility technical papers, program plans, and executive briefings. Strong oral communication skills for facilitating multidisciplinary panels.
• Problem Solving & Process Improvement: Experience in developing process maps, workflow management tools, and efficiency trackers for complex engineering programs.

Education: MS or MA Degree in Acquisition, Logistics Management, Business, Engineering, or Management.

Experience: At least 10 years' FTE experience in acquisition related to in-service support of DOD weapons systems performing any of the following: LORA, maintenance planning, Logistics Support/Supportability Analysis, Operational Availability analysis, or resource requirements analysis. Twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering experience within DoD Acquisition, Systems Engineering, or Sustainment environments and LCC experience desired. Four years' experience supervising and directing in the performance of comprehensive analyses across the spectrum of IS elements, during a job assignment in an Acquisition command or supporting an acquisition command.
