Senior Cloud Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support a federal modernization program focused on delivering secure, scalable, and mission-critical cloud solutions for government customers. This position is on-site at Huntsville, AL . The Senior Cloud Engineer will lead cloud architecture, deployment, optimization, and sustainment efforts while supporting application modernization, DevSecOps initiatives, and enterprise cloud operations. Responsibilities for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• Design, build, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, data platforms, and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation tools.
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration, cloud automation, monitoring, observability, and secure DevSecOps practices.
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls including IAM, encryption, network segmentation, compliance, and vulnerability management.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, performance, and deployment issues while supporting development, testing, and migration teams.

Required Qualifications for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or related technical environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, cloud networking, VPC design, load balancing, security controls, and automation technologies.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, cloud automation tools, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $170,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
