Job Description

Description

Are you passionate about using intelligence analysis to solve complex challenges in the space domain?

Do you enjoy turning intelligence from multiple sources into actionable data that can inform modeling, simulation, and analysis?

Are you interested in working alongside engineers, modelers, and analysts to help assess and forecast national security space threats?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

We are seeking a Space All-Source Intelligence Analyst to support programs within APL's National Security Space Mission Area (NSSMA). You will apply your knowledge of the Intelligence Community (IC) and experience with all-source intelligence analysis to help address critical challenges facing the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community in the space domain.

In this role, you will serve as a critical link between intelligence and the technical teams developing high-fidelity modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) capabilities. Rather than focusing primarily on traditional intelligence reporting, you will acquire, analyze, and translate intelligence from multiple classified sources into the quantitative data, parameters, and operational context needed to develop realistic models and simulations. You will collaborate closely with systems engineers, modelers, data scientists, and program teams to ensure our analyses accurately represent real-world threats and operating environments.

As a Space All-Source Intelligence Analyst, you will...
  • Acquire, analyze, and synthesize intelligence from multiple sources and classified disciplines to develop a comprehensive understanding of space threats and operational environments.
  • Translate qualitative intelligence assessments into quantitative data, variables, and parameters that can be incorporated into modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and modelers to integrate intelligence into high-fidelity models used to assess and forecast national security space threats.
  • Apply intelligence insights to develop realistic operational and training scenarios for complex simulations.
  • Support model verification and validation by comparing simulation results with available real-world intelligence and identifying discrepancies that may affect model accuracy or fidelity.
  • Develop and maintain detailed threat and operational environment profiles to ensure models and simulations reflect the most current intelligence available.
  • Work closely with MS&A engineers, data scientists, analysts, and program managers to define intelligence requirements and effectively integrate intelligence throughout the modeling and analysis lifecycle.
  • Communicate intelligence findings and technical insights to multidisciplinary teams to support analyses, assessments, and sponsor needs.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
  • B.S. in Intelligence Studies, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in DoD and IC-developed space systems, especially those systems focused on space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and space situational awareness (SSA)
  • Expert with IC and DoD processes and protocols for intelligence sharing and collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience conducting all-source analysis, data and intelligence synthesis, and intelligence analysis and production
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, and intelligence-product publications
  • Hold an active TS/SCI security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...
  • Advanced degree in Intelligence Studies, National Security, National Strategy, Space Systems Engineering, or related STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Assignments to various IC organizations, with at least 3+ years at any one
  • Demonstrated experience working Space Weapons and Tactics
  • Experience in Red Team methodologies and threat analysis approaches
  • Participation in Space Warfare games (i.e., THORS HAMMER, Schriever Wargames, Space Flag)
  • Current TS//SCI clearance with polygraph, and with existing or previous access to SAP/CAP programs.
