Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum one year of prior experience performing payroll processing or closely related payroll operations.
• Prior National Finance Center (NFC) payroll processing experience is required.
• Advanced mathematical, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to research and resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
• Ability to interpret payroll information, supporting documentation, established procedures, and applicable guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide customer service to internal and external customers.
Required/Expected Experience:
Candidates should have experience performing or supporting complex payroll actions such as:
• Payroll adjustments and corrections.
• Refunds and bills/collections.
• Back-pay actions.
• Retirement-related payroll actions.
• Federal, state, and local tax actions.
• Research and reconciliation of payroll discrepancies.
• Identification of root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
• Determination of whether payroll transactions require correction or reprocessing.
• Quality review of payroll transactions and supporting documentation.
• Monitoring workloads, status, aging, and completion of assigned actions.
• Providing technical guidance on payroll processing issues.
Lead Responsibilities:
One selected Financial Analyst will additionally coordinate the onsite team's daily activities, manage workload assignments and priorities, monitor performance and quality, escalate issues, coordinate with Government personnel, and support required status reporting. This is not a separately compensated position.
