Job Description
Our client is seeking a Export Compliance Specialist for an upcoming proposal supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) Security Services Contract. This position supports international program execution by ensuring compliance with U.S. export control regulations, security requirements, and foreign partner information-sharing policies. The successful candidate will assist with export-control reviews, coordination activities, licensing actions, and compliance processes that enable secure collaboration with domestic and international stakeholders supporting the F-35 program.
The Export Compliance Specialist will work closely with government personnel, security professionals, foreign disclosure personnel, program management teams, and industry partners to support export-control compliance efforts and international program objectives. This position is located in Arlington, VA. and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. An active DoD Secret clearance is required. Special Access Requirements (SAR) eligibility required.
This is a proposal position and is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final staffing authorization.
Key Responsibilities
• Support export compliance activities in accordance with applicable U.S. export-control laws, regulations, and program guidance.
• Review technical data, documentation, presentations, and program materials for export-control considerations.
• Assist with the preparation, coordination, tracking, and maintenance of export-related documentation.
• Support compliance reviews involving technology transfer, international collaboration, and partner engagement activities.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, security personnel, legal counsel, and program teams on export-compliance matters.
• Maintain records associated with export-control actions and compliance activities.
• Help identify potential export-control risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance assessments related to export-control requirements.
• Monitor regulatory changes affecting program operations and provide compliance recommendations.
• Develop and maintain reports, briefings, and status updates supporting program leadership.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; qualifying experience substitutions may be considered in accordance with contract labor-category requirements.
• Three or more years of experience supporting export compliance, international programs, security, regulatory compliance, or related functional areas.
• Ability to comprehensively fulfill tasks associated with PWS 3.2.8.
• Knowledge of U.S. export-control regulations and compliance principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative government-contractor environment.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Active DoD Secret clearance is required. Special Access Requirements (SAR) eligibility required.
• Will be required to sign Letter of Intent.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition or international security cooperation programs.
• Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Experience supporting aircraft, aviation, or defense programs.
• Experience preparing export-control documentation, licensing packages, or compliance reviews.
• Familiarity with F-35 program operations, acquisition, sustainment, or international partner activities.
