About The Role:
Are you ready to build applications and analytic products that help military leaders make informed decisions? Sourceree is seeking two Software Engineers with complementary strengths in application development, data science, or a blend of these disciplines to support the Department of War’s Readiness effort.
You will help turn complex readiness information into intuitive applications, validated analytics, and practical decision-support tools for senior Government leaders. The work includes developing user-centered applications in Palantir Maven and creating analytical methods, models, and visual products that help users understand readiness across multiple data sources, time horizons, and mission requirements.
We are hiring two people with complementary skill sets—not expecting every applicant to meet every technical requirement listed below. Candidates with depth in one technical area, as well as those with experience spanning multiple areas, are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will be aligned with each selected candidate’s strengths and the team’s overall mission needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following, with specific assignments based on technical experience and mission needs. Other duties may be assigned by management.
Application Development
• Develop, configure, test, deploy, and sustain Maven-based applications, workflows, interfaces, and analytic tools.
• Translate user needs, mission workflows, and readiness requirements into practical application designs and prioritized product increments.
• Build intuitive dashboards, forms, visualizations, and user experiences that enable Government users to access and act on approved data and analytics.
• Integrate applications with approved data products, validated analytical models, and Government-hosted services.
• Conduct iterative prototyping, demonstrations, user feedback sessions, and technical testing with Government stakeholders.
• Address defects, performance issues, and user feedback while maintaining appropriate security, configuration-management, and change-control practices.
Data Science and Readiness Analytics
• Conduct exploratory, descriptive, predictive, and scenario-based analyses using readiness-related data.
• Develop, validate, and refine analytical models, metrics, and measures that support strategic readiness assessments and decision-making.
• Translate senior-leader questions into analytical approaches, assumptions, data needs, and usable outputs.
• Build visualizations, dashboards, analytic narratives, and briefing materials that clearly communicate findings, limitations, and implications.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define data requirements, assess data quality, and improve the analytical usability of source data.
• Support rapid-response analyses, special reports, and readiness-related products as directed.
Collaboration and Product Delivery
• Work with technical teams and mission stakeholders to incorporate validated models and analytics into Maven-based products.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including application documentation, release notes, test artifacts, analytical methods, assumptions, data sources, model limitations, and validation results, as applicable to assigned work.
• Support knowledge transfer, user training, and continuity for Government users and sustainment personnel.

Minimum Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or quantitative field.
• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in one or both of the following:

o Data science and analytics: Using Python, R, SQL, or similar tools to prepare and analyze data, develop and validate analytical approaches, and communicate findings, data-quality concerns, and limitations through briefings or visual products.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate mission requirements into practical solutions and explain technical information to varied audiences.
• Preferred: Experience with Palantir Maven, Foundry, Gotham, or comparable platforms; Government or national-security decision support; and, depending on technical focus, user-centered design, DevSecOps, advanced analytical modeling, or an advanced quantitative degree.
• Work arrangement: Onsite
• Travel requirements: <5%
• Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
