BAE Systems seeks a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer with Microelectronics experience to lead RF / Microwave module design of Broadband, High Power GaN / GaAs amplifiers as well as manage the execution of the amplifier projects. The candidate will lead design project teams to assess requirements, provide accurate cost and schedule assessments, develop compliant amplifier designs, meet Design To Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) targets, conduct thorough design reviews, validate amplifier performance, specify test requirements, identify critical processes, transition the design to full rate production, and support the product through its lifecycle ("OWN" the product). The candidate will be the primary point of contact for engineering execution of the product and interface with internal or external customers. As such, the ability to assess and draw conclusions from technical data and develop, implement, and manage planned activities to closure is essential. Design responsibilities include the RF circuit design required to execute the amplifier design and predict performance, as well as project production yield versus the specifications using various RF / Microwave design tools. This candidate will work closely across functions between Engineering, Operations / Manufacturing, Test Engineering, and Product Producibility and Launch (P2L) in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

The Role: In this role, you will:
- Lead cross-functional technical teams in development of new power amplifier module designs
- Perform RF/microwave design and module layout
- Perform design verification testing of modules
- Lead design reviews following BAE engineering processes
- Collaborate with the MMIC design team to develop custom GaN MMICs to meet module requirements
- Be the main technical interface to internal program teams and system engineering
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers
- Occasionally travel (about 10% of the time) to customer sites for meetings and technical discussions.
- You love finding new and creative ways to solve problems.
- You are able to concisely explain complex subjects in person and in email.
- You're always anticipating your customer's needs and working to exceed their expectations.You're willing to put in the time and effort it takes to get the job done and get it done well.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering related discipline with 8+ years of experience, or Master's Degree and 6 years of experience
- Design of GaAs and/or GaN High Power Amplifiers including RF path cascade analysis and non-linear analysis
- Experience with RF test equipment (including RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers).
- Experience testing and troubleshooting RF/Microwave modules
- Demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects within budget and schedule constraints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Proficiency with Keysight ADS and/or Cadence MWO
- Proficiency with Ansys HFSS 3D EM software
- Experience with Excel VBA Macros for data processing
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in production testing
- Experience with transition to production of high volume microelectronics products
- Experience with MMIC technology
