SAP MDG Funds Management (FM) Functional Consultant
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Funds Management (FM) Functional Consultant to support a major federal SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions for Funds Management and Public Sector Management master data across a complex enterprise SAP landscape.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with SAP MDG, Funds Management (FM), Public Sector Management (PSM), SAP S/4HANA, and financial master data governance. This individual will partner closely with government stakeholders, finance teams, and technical resources to improve data quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and establish sustainable governance processes.
This is a fully remote position supporting a long-term Department of Defense ERP modernization effort.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead requirements gathering sessions and business process workshops focused on Funds Management master data governance.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and business partners to document business requirements, business rules, and governance processes.
• Configure SAP MDG for Funds Management, including:
◦ Data Modeling
◦ Process Modeling
◦ UI FPM Modeling
◦ Workflow Configuration
◦ Business Rule Framework Plus (BRF+)
• Configure and maintain Change Request workflows, validation rules, derivation rules, and approval processes.
• Support governance processes for:
◦ Funds
◦ Funds Centers
◦ Commitment Items
◦ Funded Programs
◦ Public Sector Management (PSM) master data
• Configure the Data Replication Framework (DRF) to support master data distribution across SAP landscapes.
• Support integrations utilizing:
◦ SOA Services
◦ Web Services
◦ IDocs
◦ ALE
• Partner with Finance, Controlling, Public Sector Management, Grants Management, and technical teams to ensure accurate and consistent financial master data.
• Design and maintain governance policies, duplicate-check frameworks, validation controls, and approval workflows.
• Support integration with SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), General Ledger (G/L), Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and other financial processes.
• Develop Functional Design Documents (FDDs), configuration documentation, and business process documentation.
• Support data migration, cleansing, conversion, and master data quality initiatives.
• Perform Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot production issues and support ongoing enhancements and optimization efforts.
• Participate in change management, deployment planning, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide occasional on-site client support when required.
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience with SAP MDG, SAP Funds Management (FM), or related SAP master data governance solutions (5-7 years preferred).
• Demonstrated experience configuring:
◦ SAP MDG for Funds Management
◦ Data Models
◦ Workflow Configuration
◦ UI FPM Modeling
◦ Business Rule Framework Plus (BRF+)
◦ Data Replication Framework (DRF)
• Strong understanding of SAP Funds Management (FM) and Public Sector Management (PSM) master data within SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience working with:

◦ Related public sector financial master data
• Experience facilitating workshops and gathering business requirements.
• Experience developing Functional Design Documents and supporting end-to-end solution delivery.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
