Polishing & Deburring Technician (Aerospace Components)
Position Summary- $20/HR
The Polishing & Deburring Technician is responsible for finishing and refining precision aerospace components to meet quality and engineering specifications. This role involves removing machining marks, blending surfaces, polishing airfoils and radii, repairing minor defects, and using measuring tools to verify part conformity. The ideal candidate has experience with hand tools, air tools, polishing equipment, and precision inspection methods.

The Polishing & Deburring Technician is responsible for finishing and refining precision aerospace components to meet quality and engineering specifications. This role involves removing machining marks, blending surfaces, polishing airfoils and radii, repairing minor defects, and using measuring tools to verify part conformity. The ideal candidate has experience with hand tools, air tools, polishing equipment, and precision inspection methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Use air tools, polishing wheels, and abrasive belts to finish and refine metal components.
- Create, repair, and blend outside radii, fillet radii, airfoils, shrouds, and platforms.
- Remove cutter marks, machine tool marks, scratches, and other surface imperfections.
- Improve surface finish (micro finish) to meet engineering and customer requirements.
- Repair oversize and undersize conditions in accordance with work instructions and operation sheets.
- Relocate and restore radii while maintaining required part geometry and dimensions.
- Control stock removal and blending processes to ensure proper part configuration.
- Select and install appropriate polishing belts, abrasives, and wheels based on application requirements.
- Measure and inspect parts using gauges and other inspection tools to verify compliance with specifications.
- Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in polishing, deburring, grinding, blending, metal finishing, or related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to use hand tools, air tools, polishing equipment, and abrasive materials safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, operation sheets, and specifications.
- Experience using gauges and measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with turbine engine or airfoil components.
- Knowledge of surface finish requirements and precision metal finishing techniques.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and dimensional inspection.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to lift and move materials within established safety guidelines.
- Ability to work with small, detailed components requiring fine motor skills.
