i3 is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) Air/Ground Integration and Interoperability Lab (AGIIL) in Huntsville, AL. AGIIL is a fast-paced, rapid prototyping and systems integration laboratory supporting a diverse range of Department of War customers and mission areas. Key Responsibilities:
- Translate operational and customer needs into technical requirements and practical hardware and software engineering solutions.
- Apply Systems Engineering principles to identify and derive requirements.
- Support software and system architecture design and development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system functionality and performance.
- Conduct system analysis and trade studies to optimize system performance.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including requirements, design, and test plans.
- Lead and participate in system integration and testing activities.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, Systems) or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in a defense or aerospace environment.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methodologies (e.g., INCOSE).
- Experience with requirements management tools and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and simulation.
- Experience with requirements traceability and verification/validation processes.
