Job Description

Test Engineer (RF and SW/FW Test) Program:

Westminster - 9/80
M and F Remote
T-Thu onsite
Secret and ability to get Sap Briefed
RFP due back by 10/7 - though we will go faster

Program recently won a contract to develop, test, and deliver software and firmware capabilities. The work includes major milestone reviews and designing and building the software and firmware testing. The engineer(s) will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test software and firmware products using RF test tools in a lab.

Milestones (tailored IEEE 15288.2-2014; CA means contract award)

PDR (Preliminary Design Review): 6–8 months after CA
CDR (Critical Design Review): 14–16 months after CA
Staffing

One or more Test Engineers with at least 3–5 years of experience
A split skill set works: one engineer can cover RF testing and another can cover SW/FW testing
All candidates: MATLAB and/or Python for test automation and data processing (both is preferred)
Profile A: RF Test Engineer

Hands-on RF testing, ideally radar or electronic warfare (EW)
RF test equipment: mainly signal generators and spectrum analyzers; network analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and SDRs (software-defined radios) are a plus
Working knowledge of RF components, analog RF test setups and configuration, and RF link budgets
Programmatic control of test equipment, usually through SCPI commands
Automated processing of raw IQ data collects
Custom RF waveform generation
Test scripting and automation
Requirements validation: test planning, execution, and reporting
Profile B: SW/FW Test Engineer

C++, Java, or Python to build software test surrogate modules for interface testing
Code for automated test equipment setup, DUT (device under test) control, and test sequencing
Post-test data processing and automating that processing
GUI development for test interfaces, automation, and data processing
Lightweight databases (SQLite, MS Access, or similar) to track test points and manage test data
Cameo for interface work and minor updates only (this is not an MBSE role)
Support for software-heavy testing such as messaging/ICDs, interoperability, and cyber
Any RF experience is a big plus
