Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to support the design, evaluation, qualification, and reliability of electronic components used in advanced defense and aerospace systems.

This position will provide technical leadership for component engineering activities, including parts management, reliability analysis, qualification review, testing, and compliance with military and industry standards. The selected candidate will work closely with systems engineers, test engineers, quality organizations, and program leadership to ensure components meet performance, reliability, and survivability requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines strong electrical engineering fundamentals with extensive experience evaluating electronic components, interpreting qualification data, supporting test activities, and leading engineering reviews.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead component engineering and reliability efforts supporting complex hardware development programs.
- Evaluate and assess non-standard electronic components for suitability in mission-critical applications.
- Chair and participate in engineering review boards focused on parts, materials, and process decisions.
- Review component qualification data, reliability metrics, and test results to support engineering recommendations.
- Collaborate with environmental, radiation, and test engineering teams to characterize component performance and survivability.
- Analyze component performance against military and industry standards and identify potential technical risks.
- Review technical reports, engineering analyses, and qualification documentation prior to customer delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers in component selection, reliability analysis, qualification methodologies, and engineering best practices.
- Support failure investigations, root cause analysis activities, and corrective action development.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to customers, leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, component engineering, reliability engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience evaluating electronic components and applying quality and reliability standards.
- Knowledge of military and industry standards governing electronic component performance, qualification, and survivability.
- Experience reviewing technical data and assessing component suitability for operational environments.
- Understanding of component characterization, qualification testing, and reliability analysis techniques.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience preparing technical reports, engineering assessments, and recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers, engineers, and program stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience developing or managing a Parts Management Plan.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or approving Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs).
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, missile, space, or other highly regulated programs.
- Experience performing failure investigations and hardware troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as: Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Digital Multimeters, Impedance Analyzers.
- Experience supporting environmental, radiation, qualification, or survivability testing.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools used in engineering test environments.
