The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ML Ops Engineer to join our team in supporting critical federal programs. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops) pipelines that ensure the reliable deployment, monitoring, and scaling of AI/ML models across various federal agency environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient ML Ops pipelines for deploying AI/ML models in production environments.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to integrate ML models into existing systems and workflows.
  • Ensure the reproducibility, version control, and monitoring of ML models throughout their lifecycle.
  • Optimize model performance, scalability, and resource utilization in production environments.
  • Implement automated CI/CD pipelines for model training, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to track model performance and health in production.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security, privacy, and data governance standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and data scientists.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in ML Ops, AI/ML, and federal IT modernization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on ML Ops, AI/ML engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing ML Ops pipelines and deploying AI/ML models in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git).
  • Experience with data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop) and big data technologies.
  • Understanding of model monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Active Secret or higher clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with federal agencies or government contractors.
  • Knowledge of federal security, privacy, and data governance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
  • Experience with MLOps tools and platforms (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, TensorFlow Extended).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model explainability, fairness, and bias mitigation techniques.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
