Job Description

Our Deloitte Cyber team understands the unique challenges and opportunities businesses face in cybersecurity. Join our team to deliver powerful solutions to help our clients navigate the ever-changing threat landscape. Through powerful solutions and managed services that simplify complexity, we enable our clients to operate with resilience, grow with confidence, and proactively manage to secure success.

The Lead Product Engineer is the senior technical owner for one of Deloitte's product lines as a hands-on lead spanning across spacecraft hardware, embedded software, AI/ML, ground systems, and cyber operations. This role holds final technical authority over what ships and release readiness, while defining and evolving the system architecture, including how the Deloitte product integrates into new spacecraft buses and mission profiles, so it remains scalable, coherent, and strategically aligned across a growing set of host platforms and customer programs.

Work You'll Do

As a Lead Product Engineer on the Enterprise Security team, you will be responsible for...

  • Serving as the senior technical owner for a Deloitte product line across spacecraft hardware, embedded software, AI/ML, ground systems, and cyber operations.
  • Defining and evolving system architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards to support deployment across new spacecraft buses, mission profiles, and host platforms
  • Making release readiness decisions and owning final technical authority over product quality, system integrity, and what is approved for shipment
  • Leading technical tradeoff decisions for adaptation to unfamiliar bus architectures, interfaces, and orbital environments while maintaining schedule, performance, and mission outcomes.
  • Partnering with product, engineering, manufacturers, bus partners, and government and commercial customers to drive technical vision, delivery, and interoperability of Deloitte's products.
  • Lead integration engineering for each new host platform: define interface control documents (ICDs), adapt Silent Shield to mission-specific bus protocols (e.g., CAN, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire) and message structures, and manage the non-recurring engineering required to onboard a new bus, satellite manufacturer, or mission profile.
  • Lead multidisciplinary delivery across cyber, software, hardware, AI, and systems: unblock teams, ensure implementation consistency across bus types and mission profiles, and bridge research to production.
  • Translate compliance frameworks (NIST, CNSSP-12, ATO, STIGs as applicable) into executable delivery controls and compliance-ready designs, consistent across Deloitte-owned and customer-owned deployments.
  • Own system-level test strategy and execution, including FlatSat and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) integration testing, security validation, mission-readiness, and operational acceptance across host platforms; own system failures and root-cause resolution.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective technical written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Strong leadership skillset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong technical acumen
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong grasp of security architecture.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • 5+ years of experience with spacecraft systems, embedded software, cyber operations, ground systems, or artificial intelligence/machine learning-enabled products.
  • Proven leadership capabilities delivering complex, multidisciplinary cyber and/or space systems through production and operations.
  • Deep experience designing secure architecture across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and space/embedded constraints, with strong systems-thinking and integration background (interfaces, bus protocols, constraints, failure modes).
  • Demonstrated experience integrating a payload, subsystem, or capability across multiple satellite bus architectures or host platforms, including interface definition (ICDs), non-recurring engineering, and acceptance testing with external manufacturers or bus partners.
  • Experience defining system architecture and technical requirements for integrated hardware and software products.
  • Experience supporting technical integration with external partners, manufacturers, or customers
  • Experience operating under compliance constraints (NIST, ATO, STIGs, as applicable) and translating them into executable delivery controls and compliance-ready designs.
  • Expertise in Cyber Governance and Policies and Product Management.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree or PHD in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
  • Cyber technical skillset.
  • Experience with satellite mission operations, telemetry/tracking/command (TT&C), or aerospace delivery environments.
  • Background in embedded systems integration across multiple bus protocols (CAN bus, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, real-time protocols).
  • Experience working with satellite manufacturers or bus partners on payload integration, radiation qualification, or SWaP-constrained design.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model deployment pipelines in constrained environments (e.g., ONNX).
  • Background in SPARTA (Space Attack Research and Tactic Analysis) threat frameworks.
  • Working fluency across the platform tech stack, enough to guide design decisions in each domain: embedded/space (C, POSIX, CAN bus, real-time OS); AI/ML (Python, ONNX, PyTorch, Isolation Forest, autoencoders); ground segment (Docker, Grafana, MQTT, Node.js); CI/CD and DevOps (GitHub Actions, automated security scanning, containerized deployments, Prometheus, Fluent Bit).
