Staff Cloud Network Engineer

Our client seeks a Staff Cloud Network Engineer to lead secure, resilient cloud and hybrid network architectures across AWS and Azure. You will design, implement, and manage advanced networking solutions that support mission-critical applications and ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement secure, scalable cloud and hybrid network solutions across AWS and Azure environments
• Design and deploy advanced networking features such as VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, and network ACLs
• Implement and manage network security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection
• Optimize network performance and troubleshoot complex network issues
• Collaborate with cloud architects, security teams, and application developers to ensure seamless integration and compliance
• Develop and maintain network automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment and management processes
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for cloud security and network architecture
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on cloud networking best practices and technologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in cloud networking, with at least 5 years focused on AWS and Azure
• Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, and network ACLs
• Experience with implementing and managing network security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and DNS
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and tool development
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Security clearance may be required for certain projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Certified Advanced Networking, or CCNP
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of SD-WAN and other emerging networking technologies
• Experience working in a DevOps environment
