- Conducting comprehensive technical editing and reviews of all NNSA-requested documents to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Developing detailed written technical documents suitable for dissemination to U.S. and UK Government stakeholders.
- Facilitating seamless communication and coordination between NNSA and the U.S./UK Joint Program team to support program objectives.
- Proactively engaging with stakeholders to identify technical and programmatic needs and develop effective solutions.
- A commitment to excellence in technical editing, program coordination, and technical documentation to support the NNSA mission.
Typical work assignments would require:
- Attending meetings to gather insights into program objectives and draft concise summaries of key discussions, concerns, decisions, risks, and action items.
- Synthesizing information and extracting relevant insights to meet customer needs.
- Writing and editing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with intended goals.
- Selecting appropriate visuals and illustrative materials to enhance communication.
- Applying government department policies and style guidelines to all materials.
- Coordinating and conducting reviews to confirm the accuracy of information, proper classification, and consistency with NNSA messaging.
- Preparing materials for publication, distribution, and transmission to the UK.
- Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content and develop presentations, reports, and documents that meet project requirements.
The ideal candidate should be able to effectively:
- Conceptualize and communicate complex programmatic topics and materials.
- Demonstrate exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to draft, edit, and refine reports, summaries, presentations, and other technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the Colorado and Washington DC Arcfield U.S./UK team, demonstrating proficiency in written and verbal communication, including email, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for meeting management and logistics between U.S. and UK government entities and their respective contractors for designated meeting forums.
- Coordinate and lead technical program meetings when requested.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of technical terminology and systems engineering concepts.
- Manage and ensure compliance with transmissibility reporting requirements for all atomic information exchanges with the UK government.
- Monitor, track, and support electronic file transmissions for meetings, briefings, and collaborative efforts.
- Provide direct and personalized support to our NNSA customer, including:
- Real-time, daily communication between the customer and Arcfield personnel.
- Meeting in NNSA office space at least twice weekly.
- Tracking and ensuring resolution of customer-assigned tasks.
- Compiling and organizing technical details from all relevant U.S. organizations into draft presentations or reports for the customer.
- Collaborating with Arcfield DOE Derivative Classifiers to provide classification reviews of both unclassified and classified documents to ensure there are no classification anomalies.
- Assisting with meeting preparation by drafting agendas, verifying attendance, overseeing action item status, and navigating security and facility logistics for each requested meeting.
- Supporting any additional UK program tasking as requested by the customer.
- Develop and deliver technical reports and other associated documentation as stipulated by contract requirements.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support UK program customer objectives and requirements.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally in support of customer meeting and program requirements.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5
- A BS/BA in an English field of study and 8+ years of experience
- Demonstrated experience as a technical editor who can perform the following:
- Apply the appropriate grammar, writing, editing practices, and style requirements for the customer.
- Ensure configuration and version control throughout the entire writing and editing process.
- Determine the most appropriate desktop publishing technologies to draft, edit, and design assignments for publication.
- Conceptualize, develop, obtain and/or process complex graphics into acceptable Government approved formats, such as flattening, sanitizing, and integrating images.
- Understand fact-finding techniques to gather and verify factual information when writing and editing materials, such as reports, articles, and presentations.
- Practice effective communication techniques to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy and diplomacy.
- Develop and select the appropriate information to be presented.
- Design presentation templates and status charts.
- Track documents, reports, and other products through a customer governed process.
- Maintain an organizational library of documents and graphics that can be accessed by other program personnel.
- Remove hidden/residual/unwanted data from documents.
- Demonstrated experience with organization, logistics, and meeting management
- Proactive and organized personality with the ability to multitask
- Able to work face-to-face with customer in an office setting
- Able to independently prepare presentations and meeting materials for the customer
- Able to work closely and clearly communicate with the customer, other organizations on the UK program team, and Arcfield team across multiple office locations

- Active DoD Top Secret clearance or DOE Q clearance

Desired Experience:
- An active DoD Top Secret clearance
- An MS or MA in an English field of study and have 3+ years of related experience
- Ability to comprehend complex technical content
- Experience working in a classified environment and with security-related operations
- Experience with or knowledge of the Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile program
- Familiar with the design and military utilization of nuclear weapons
- Familiar with treaty and agreements related to the U.S./UK nuclear cooperation
