We are seeking a Design Engineer 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requirements, statements of work, specifications, drawings, and site information to understand project scope and design constraints.
  • Develop and update security system drawings, equipment lists, bills of materials, and other design documentation.
  • Contribute technical information and engineering estimates for proposals and project planning.
  • Provision and configure servers and workstations used by electronic security systems.
  • Install, configure, integrate, and troubleshoot OEM security applications and devices, with support from experienced team members when needed.
  • Help develop and execute configuration checks, test procedures, deployment plans, and commissioning activities.
  • Work with installation, deployment, project management, and engineering teams to resolve issues and keep documentation aligned with the installed system.
  • Support site surveys, field testing, and technical support for deployed systems.
  • Own assigned deliverables, communicate progress and risks, incorporate feedback, and share lessons learned with the team.


Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance is required.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, engineering management, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience with physical security systems, related IT solutions, design, integration, deployment, or sustainment.
  • Practical experience in electronic security system design, system integration, or both, with the interest and ability to develop skills in the other area.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and specifications and apply them to assigned work.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with one or more electronic security platforms or product families, such as C• CURE, Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, HID, or Axis. Experience with every listed platform is not expected.
  • AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable design and modeling experience.
  • Experience configuring servers, workstations, networks, or applications that support electronic security systems.
  • Experience creating technical drawings, documentation, test records, or commissioning records.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to explain technical work to teammates and customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
