We are seeking a Design Engineer 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

  • Review requests for proposals, statements of work, customer specifications, and define technical scope and design requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys for design feasibility and requirements validation
  • Develop or review system designs, drawings, architectures, equipment selections, bills of materials, and engineering labor estimates for bids and projects.
  • Provision and configure servers and workstations that support electronic security systems.
  • Install, configure, integrate, and troubleshoot applicable OEM security applications and devices.
  • Develop and carry out configuration checks, test plans, deployment and commissioning plans, and system administration procedures.
  • Work with installation, deployment, project management, and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues and deliver systems that meet project requirements.
  • Provide technical support for deployed systems and use lessons learned to improve design and integration standards.
  • Own assigned technical work, communicate progress and risks clearly, and contribute to a team culture of learning, teaching, and shared accountability.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance is required.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, engineering management, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of relevant experience supporting physical security systems and related IT solutions through design, integration, deployment, or sustainment.
  • Demonstrated technical experience in electronic security system design, system integration, or both, with the interest and ability to develop skills in the other area.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements, identify technical constraints, and communicate a workable solution.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with one or more electronic security platforms or product families, such as C• CURE, Genetec, Lenel, Identiv, Milestone, HID, Axis, or Bosch. Experience with every listed platform is not expected.
  • AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable design and modeling experience.
  • Experience with server and workstation configuration, networking, and application deployment in an electronic security environment.
  • Experience developing clear drawings, technical documentation, test procedures, or commissioning records.
  • Previous field experience with installation or site surveys
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
