Duties
Help
  • Manage the timely and effective interface and integration of highly complex mission initiatives in support of core competencies and command guidance.
  • Coordinate and synchronize efforts across AMC MSCs and HQ staff and leaders to produce sustainability assessments of AMC’s capability to support operations / plans.
  • Extensive background with sustainment operations, logistics operations to support field and wholesale operations and materiel management responsibilities.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures to carry out various logistics functions dealing with transportation, consolidation and accountability of equipment.
  • Establish working relationships with HQ AMC staff elements, MSCs, and other activities to ensure that viable guidance is provided and is used in the development of subordinate plans.
  • Advise Division Chief, Operations Director, and other command elements on program status, concerns, and analysis.
  • Understand the major concerns of the organization by keeping open communication with staff, managers, and other executives.
  • Review, coordinate and make recommendations on EDA policies, plans and actions for the management of security assistance cases.
  • Work closely with Country Program Managers (CPM’s) to develop plans and priorities for security cooperation programs.
  • Provide technical analysis and logistics acumen to the U.S. Army and United States Security Assistance Enterprise.
  • Represent the command and subordinate units at briefings, conferences and in-progress reviews related to the program logistics readiness and sustainment efforts.
  • Understand the strategic goals and objectives of the organization and implement them into daily operations.
  • Consider and aligns the various perspectives and needs of the Command when planning, coordinating, and communicating organization’s policies and processes.
  • Coordinate with counterparts in other organizations, both internal and external, to ensure that acquisition and sustainment strategy decisions are fully integrated.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position’s SCW certification level.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Evaluating Foreign Military Sales or Excess Defense Articles cases to ensure compliance with policies and security objectives; 2) Coordinating defense equipment logistics with foreign partners to streamline international transport and delivery; AND 3) Formulating policy briefs and logistics reports for executive leaders to guide strategic security assistance decisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education
