GS-05: Applicants who meet the basic education requirement for this position are considered eligible for GS-05 grade level. (Note you must attach a copy of your transcripts).
GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Identifying electronic components and retrieving standard schematics from repository databases to support team projects, 2) Extracting technical data points, such as manufacturer part numbers, from equipment manuals for senior engineers to use in estimates AND 3) Observing standard testing procedures and recording basic operational measurements on electrical equipment under direct, side-by-side instruction. This definition of specialized experience is typical for work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service to the (GS-05). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts).

Education: One full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Electronics Engineering. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on:(1) Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed course. OR(2) Grade-Point Average - Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.;

GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Drafting basic electronic schematics and inputting revisions into CAD software using step-by-step instructions and technical templates, 2) Gathering technical data and performing mathematical calculations to support senior staff in compiling project estimates AND 3) Performing routine tests and basic diagnostic procedures on electronic equipment to ensure proper functionality. This definition of specialized experience is typical for work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service to the (GS-07). Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Engineering or Computer Science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Modifying electronic plans and CAD drawings under the direction of senior engineers to resolve operational issues, 2) Assisting in collecting data and preparing preliminary cost and quantity estimates for maintenance projects AND 3) Troubleshooting electronic equipment failures by applying standard engineering formulas and established troubleshooting guides. This definition of specialized experience is typical for work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service to the (GS-09). - Formulate technical designs, specifications, and computer-aided drawings (CAD) for diverse electronic systems, equipment, and shelter communications to support in-house and contracted production projects.
- Resolve complex engineering problems and technical challenges by applying advanced academic knowledge, exercising resourcefulness, and deviating from traditional engineering methods when precedents do not apply.
- Evaluate project costs, quantities, and technical specifications to deliver accurate preliminary and final estimates for electronic engineering features performed by Depot personnel or external contractors.
- Author technical position papers, reports, and formal briefings comparing engineering alternatives with supporting data to recommend the most feasible and energy-conserving solutions to leadership.
