Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes routing executive-level communications, taskers, or legal inquiries to appropriate subject matter experts for action; drafting executive-level briefing materials, memoranda, or formal correspondence for senior leadership signature; and coordinating administrative operations for senior executives, including managing complex official calendars, deconflicting high-priority schedules, and preparing official travel authorizations, arrangements, and expense vouchers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Legal Studies. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Help
- Develop, finalize, and organize legal briefing materials, speeches, and executive presentations for senior leadership.
- Draft, review, and coordinate responses to official executive correspondence and agency taskers.
- Review, write, and format official military and civilian awards nomination packages and citations to ensure compliance with standards.
- Coordinate complex local and international travel, create authorizations, resolve vouchers, and serve as the Defense Travel System (DTS) Subject Matter Expert.
- Serve as the primary Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder, manage office procurement, and complete monthly financial reconciliations.
- Manage the executive calendar, coordinate high-level stakeholder meetings, and maintain administrative tracking systems.
- Evaluate incoming executive communication taskers to identify specific legal, policy, or regulatory issues requiring leadership action.
- Conduct research of legal databases, federal regulations, and agency manuals to retrieve reference materials in support of legal staff.
- Ensure that all administrative actions (including DTS travel authorizations and GPC transactions) adhere to relevant federal regulations and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
