Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Security Specialist – International for an upcoming proposal supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) Security Services Contract. This senior-level position serves as a subject matter expert in international security programs, policies, and procedures supporting one of the Department of Defense's most complex multinational acquisition programs.
The selected candidate will provide expert guidance and oversight for international security activities, ensure compliance with applicable Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security requirements, and support engagement with U.S. and international stakeholders. The Senior Security Specialist will operate independently, provide strategic recommendations to program leadership, and assist with the protection of sensitive information, facilities, and technologies associated with international partner participation. This position will be located in Arlington, VA. and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. An active DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility/access is required.
This is a proposal position and is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final staffing authorization.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior-level international security support and subject matter expertise for F-35 program activities.
• Develop, review, coordinate, and implement international security policies, procedures, and program documentation.
• Advise government leadership on international security requirements, foreign participation matters, and security compliance.
• Support security planning and execution related to international agreements, partner nation engagements, and multinational program activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Department of Defense security directives, Intelligence Community requirements, and program-specific security policies.
• Review and coordinate security provisions affecting foreign nationals, international visitors, and partner nation representatives.
• Support secure facility accreditation activities and compliance requirements associated with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705.
• Analyze security issues, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
• Prepare briefings, reports, security assessments, and decision-support products for government stakeholders.
• Coordinate across security, program management, acquisition, engineering, logistics, and operational communities to support mission objectives.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to junior and mid-level security personnel.
• Represent the organization during meetings, working groups, and security reviews involving U.S. Government and international stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline; or Bachelor's degree plus four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a Master's degree.
• Minimum of ten years of experience performing work related to international security, security management, special security, foreign disclosure, or related security disciplines.
• Ability to independently perform senior-level international security functions and provide subject matter expert guidance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 5205.07 volumes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition, security, or international programs.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal, and briefing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with senior government officials, military personnel, and international stakeholders.
• Active DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility/access is required.
• Will be required to sign Letter of Intent.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office or other Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs).
• Experience supporting multinational defense programs and international partner relationships.
• Familiarity with foreign disclosure processes and international program security requirements.
• Knowledge of Special Access Program (SAP) security requirements.
• Experience developing security policy, guidance, and implementation strategies.
