Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Security) for an upcoming proposal supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) Security Services Contract. This position serves as a senior-level advisor and project leader responsible for overseeing security-related initiatives, supporting acquisition program objectives, coordinating stakeholder activities, and ensuring effective execution of program requirements.
The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise, manage complex projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support leadership decision-making in a dynamic Department of Defense environment. This position will be located in Arlington, VA. Or Patuxent River, MD. and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required.
This is a proposal position and is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final staffing authorization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of security-related programs and projects supporting F-35 JPO mission requirements.
• Provide senior-level project management support across multiple functional areas, ensuring alignment with program objectives, cost, schedule, and performance goals.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to government leadership on project status, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate activities among government personnel, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Develop executive-level briefings, reports, decision papers, and project documentation.
• Facilitate meetings, working groups, and program reviews.
• Track and manage project deliverables, milestones, and performance metrics.
• Support acquisition and program management activities in accordance with Department of Defense acquisition guidance and processes.
• Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful mission execution.
• Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to project teams while supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Interface effectively with senior government officials, military leadership, and program stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
o A combination of education and additional relevant experience may be considered consistent with contract requirements.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience supporting program, project, acquisition, security, or related Department of Defense functions.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects and provide senior-level guidance and leadership.
• Working knowledge of the DoD 5000 Series Acquisition Framework and acquisition processes.
• Minimum 4 years of general security experience.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing and presenting executive-level briefings.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Will be required to sign Letter of Intent.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), or other Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience supporting security, program protection, physical security, personnel security, industrial security, or special access programs.
• Familiarity with risk management, strategic planning, and performance management methodologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
