Structural Engineer
Plano, TX - On-site
6-month rolling contract with the ability to go direct
$60/hour +
Secret Clearance
As a Structural Engineer, you will be solving problems and working with complex materials and systems. You will support the design, analysis, and certification of advanced aerospace and defense structures. This role requires in-depth expertise in structural engineering and the ability to communicate cross-functionally.
Responsibilities include:
Support the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite structures.
Perform detailed structural analysis and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural designs into overall systems.
Oversee the development and execution of structural test plans.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
Thorough understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Experience with Static Analyses.
Knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Must Be a U.S. Citizen.
Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods.
Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW.
Familiarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations.
Essential Functions:
Apply systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop structural designs and analysis.
Convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management in a clear manner.
Understand, generate, and/or review technical documents such as drawings, structural analysis reports, and test reports.
Work on a computer for extended periods in an office or hybrid environment.
Travel occasionally to support events such as aircraft surveys, design reviews, and customer interface meetings.
Education:
Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.
