Position Overview
LCS Defense is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to build a cloud-based management platform that orchestrates and coordinates multiple high-assurance network devices.
This role focuses on backend services and APIs developed in Rust. The engineer will build capabilities for device provisioning, configuration, monitoring, firmware updates, and policy enforcement, while supporting secure communication between devices and the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services and APIs in Rust to manage lifecycle operations across a fleet of high-assurance network devices.
- Implement capabilities for device provisioning, configuration, monitoring, firmware updates, and policy enforcement.
- Architect and implement authentication and authorization frameworks for secure device-to-cloud communication.
- Translate cryptographic, security, and key management requirements from government standards into scalable cloud service designs.
- Build highly available, scalable services for telemetry ingestion, health monitoring, configuration distribution, and alerting.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of cloud-to-device interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph.
- At least 5 years of relevant software development experience.
- Experience developing backend services and APIs in Rust.
- Experience designing and building cloud-based platforms and distributed services.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization for secure communications.
- Ability to interpret cryptographic, security, and key management requirements and apply them to cloud service architecture.
- Experience developing highly available, scalable services for distributed systems.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
