Water Resources Engineer

Dewberry is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our growing Water Market Sector in our New York City, NY office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of energetic, highly engaged staff in Dewberry’s growing Water Market Sector. The ideal candidate will have people management skills along with proven technical expertise in water resources engineering, proposal development, marketing and business development in the New York City metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage water resources engineering projects, including planning, design, and construction management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Prepare project proposals, bids, and presentations for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering, preferably in the NYC metropolitan area.
  • Proven experience in managing complex water resources projects.
  • Strong technical skills in hydraulic modeling, hydrology, water distribution systems, and wastewater treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate project teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to water resources engineering.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic modeling software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with sustainable water management practices and green infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of water treatment technologies and processes.
  • Experience with stormwater management and flood control projects.
  • Strong business development skills, with experience in proposal writing and client engagement.
