Overview

i3 is hiring motivated, results-oriented Instructional Systems Designers (ISD) with a passion for training. This role can be filled at Associate, Mid or Senior Levels.

The position will require the application of the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) Instructional Model, to include the analysis and development of job tasks, learning objectives, and instructional tools and techniques for use in the creation of Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI). The ideal candidate will research, learn, and apply a commonsense approach to producing training with measurable performance outcomes.

This is a Temporary on Call Position. Selected candidates can expect to work up to 40 hours a week over a span of approximately 6 months starting in January 2027.

This is an onsite position located at our Huntsville, AL or Orlando, FL office.

Responsibilities

  • Attend data collection meetings to record all required and relevant data.
  • Research and leverage sound instructional design, prevailing learning theories, and performance improvement processes using the ADDIE Instructional Model.
  • Review technical guidance and collaborate with SME (Subject Matter Expert) to extract technical instructional content to support learning objectives.
  • Research and participate in creative and technical development teams to identify appropriate and innovative IMI solutions.
  • Develop curriculum to include writing/creating objectives, evaluations, student handbooks, and instructional lesson plans.
  • Work with other ISDs, Project Manager, and other development team members to meet production, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Ensure 100% of own work output complies with requirements and quality standards.
  • Organize course content in accordance with instructional design plans.
  • Willingness to travel, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology, Education. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • This position can be filled at multiple experience levels as noted below:
    • Associate ISD: 1-3 years of relevant DOD ISD work.
    • Mid-Level ISD : 2-7 years of relevant DOD ISD work.
    • Senior-Level ISD: 6-12 years of relevant DOD ISD work.
  • Experience developing courseware with Multimedia Learning Tools (Adobe Captivate and/or Storyline 360).
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in working with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Experience working with DoD/Military.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret level security clearance and ability to maintain the clearance is required.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Completion of Military Basic Instructor Course.
  • Experience developing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for courseware.
  • Experience developing IMI learning solutions.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
