As the Communications Security (COMSEC) Clerk you will support communications security operations at NAS Fallon, NV. You will provide administrative, inventory, accountability, and safeguarding support for COMSEC material and associated records used in operational and training environments. You will also perform assigned duties under the oversight of the designated Government COMSEC Account Manager or Custodian and coordinate with Government security personnel and ASEC site leadership.

What You’ll Do:

As the Communications Security (COMSEC) Clerk you will support communications security operations at NAS Fallon, NV. You will provide administrative, inventory, accountability, and safeguarding support for COMSEC material and associated records used in operational and training environments. You will also perform assigned duties under the oversight of the designated Government COMSEC Account Manager or Custodian and coordinate with Government security personnel and ASEC site leadership.
- Assist with the receipt, issue, transfer, storage, inventory, return, and authorized disposition of COMSEC material and controlled cryptographic items.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accountability records, hand receipts, transaction documentation, inventory reports, and supporting files.
- Participate in scheduled and unscheduled inventories, reconcile records against material on hand, and promptly report discrepancies.
- Verify recipient authorization before issuing material and maintain documentation of custody and transfers.
- Safeguard classified and sensitive material using approved handling, storage, access, and transportation procedures.
- Track material status, required actions, and suspense dates; notify the COMSEC Account Manager or Custodian of approaching deadlines.
- Assist with authorized destruction and witnessing activities when trained and designated, and maintain required documentation.
- Support COMSEC inspections, audits, account reviews, and corrective actions by organizing records and assembling requested evidence.
- Immediately report suspected loss, compromise, unauthorized access, improper handling, or accountability discrepancies through established reporting channels.
- Maintain training records, appointment documentation, access rosters, and local operating procedures as assigned.
- Assist with approved COMSEC accountability systems and electronic records within assigned permissions.
- Coordinate material requirements and administrative support with authorized users, security staff, and operational personnel.
- Perform related security administrative duties within the assigned position and contract scope.

What You’ll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Previous COMSEC Clerk, COMSEC Account support, or Local Element experience.
- Familiarity with Navy COMSEC accountability and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Electronic Key Management System (EKMS), or related accountability tools.
- Experience supporting COMSEC inspections, inventories, hand receipts, and destruction documentation.
- Previous experience supporting Navy aviation, training commands, or Special Access Programs.

- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
